StrollTour, Inc.
Privacy Policy
Effective September 15, 2026
StrollTour, Inc. ("StrollTour", "we") makes the StrollTour walking tour app and the website strolltour.ai. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to guide you around a city, we never sell your information, and we never use it for advertising, because we don't run any.
Information we collect
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist on strolltour.ai, we keep your email address to tell you when StrollTour launches. Nothing else is sent to it.
- Location, while you use the app. The app reads your phone's location to show you on the map, give directions, and start narration when you reach a stop. Location is processed on your phone. We do not keep a history of where you have been.
- Tour activity. Which tours you start, which stops you reach, and where you paused, stored on your phone so you can resume a tour. If you create an account, this can be synced so you can resume on another device.
- Questions you ask Marcus. When you ask Marcus a question, the text of your question and the landmark you are at are sent to our servers to generate an answer. We do not attach your name or precise location to the question.
- Account information, if you create an account or subscribe: your email address and subscription status. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card number.
- Technical information such as device type, app version, and crash reports, used only to keep the app working.
How we use it
- To run the app: directions, narration, resuming tours, answering questions.
- To improve the app and its content, using aggregate statistics (for example, how many people finish a tour), never individual profiles.
- To tell you about the launch, if you asked us to.
What we don't do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not show advertising or sponsored content, and we do not use your information to target you with anything.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to operate the app: cloud hosting and database services, an AI service that generates Marcus's narration text, a text-to-speech service that produces his voice, a mapping and directions service, and the Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, under contracts that prohibit other uses.
Your choices and rights
- You can use every tour without an account and without sharing your email.
- You can turn off location in your phone's settings; the app will still let you play any stop's narration by tapping it.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete any information we hold about you by emailing legal@strolltour.ai. We answer within 30 days.
- If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights described in the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to object and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Children
StrollTour is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. School and classroom features, when offered, are designed to work without individual student accounts.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
